1/2 Day Fishing Trip

(5.5 hours – $950)  @ 6:30am & 1pm

This is the perfect fishing outing for families and beginning ocean anglers as well as those visitors with limited free time during a visit to town. (Not available during high season)

3/4 Day Trip Local

(9 hours – $1,950)  @ 7am

This trip allows more fishing time than the half day, while fishing the same general areas. The kelp beds off of Point Loma and La Jolla are a short 30 to 45 minute boat ride from the dock and offer a variety of fishing opportunities. In the spring and summer months, surface fish like Bonito, Barracuda and Yellowtail are targeted, but there can also be great action fishing for Kelp Bass and Sand Bass. Although opportunities for surface fish are available year round, cooler waters in the winter tend to shift focus to fishing the bottom for Rockfish, Halibut, and Lingcod. Lunch is included on this trip.

3/4 Day Trip Coronado Island

(9 hours – $2,300) @ 7am

This trip allows more fishing time than the half day. You will be fishing Mexican waters at the Coronado Islands. The Coronado Islands, located about 20 miles south of Mission Bay, are often home to some of the best fishing that San Diego has to offer. Quite often in the spring and summer months, the best scores of yellowtail in the entire fleet are taken here. While surface fish like Bonito, Barracuda and Bass are targeted, the warmest months can produce Bluefin Tuna. Although opportunities for surface fish are available year round, cooler waters in the winter tend to shift focus to fishing the bottom for Rockfish, Halibut, and Lingcod. If fishing the Coronado Islands, a passport is required. Lunch is included on this trip.

5 to 5 Islands/Offshore Trip

(12 hours – $2,800) @ 5 am

This trip can fish the Coronado Islands, located about 20 miles south of Mission Bay, as well as the northern Baja coastline. This trip can also fish San Diego’s North County coastline if conditions dictate. In the summer months, when local waters warm up, this trip can go offshore, fishing anywhere from 10 to 40 miles from home. Continental breakfast and lunch are included. If fishing the Coronado Islands, a passport is required.

Overnight Trip

(21hrs – $3,375)  Leaving @ 9 pm returning @ 6 pm

The Overnight trip is the summer time mainstay for the Impulse. This trip generally starts fishing 50 to 80 miles from Mission Bay. The boat drives all night to get to the fishing grounds. We can spend all morning, into the early afternoon looking for fish, before heading for home. If fishing the Coronado Islands, a passport is required. Meals start with a hot breakfast from the galley on the morning of fishing, plenty of snack food all day, and a hot meal for the ride home after fishing.

1 ½ Day Trip

(32hrs – $4,500)  Leaving @ 9 pm returning @ 5 am

The 1 ½ Day Trip departs the night prior to fishing around the same time as the overnight trip but on the 1 1/2 Day Trip, anglers can fish until dark before returning home. The boat will usually return to the dock between 4 and 6 AM the day after fishing. The extended hours of this trip allows the Impulse to reach fishing grounds more than 100 miles from Mission Bay. Meals include a hot breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and a hot dinner, as well as snack food. Because we are unable to schedule a trip the day this trip returns, we are only able to offer this trip departing Saturday night, returning Monday morning, or departing Sunday night returning Tuesday morning.

2 Day Trip

(45hrs – $5,500)  Leaving @ 9 pm returning around 6 pm

This trip offers the extended range of the 1 ½ day, plus an extra day of fishing. Anglers on a 2-day have many more fishing options than our standard trips. For example, on the first day we may start fishing 100 miles from Mission Bay, then that night move to an area closer to port to fish the second day. A freshwater maker on the boat means unlimited showers for everyone.

Food for this trip will be a hot breakfast for both mornings and sandwiches or burgers for lunches. Sometimes we like to grill steaks for dinner the first day of fishing, and we will also have a hot meal for the ride home on Day Two. Snack food is available at all times during the trip. Just one note regarding the Two Day Trips on the Impulse: some groups find it more comfortable to limit their charter group to 4 or 5 anglers for a trip this long. Remember that your group will be in close quarters for 2 days.
